Biochar Technology & Equipment
About Our Biochar Stoves
With much of the world looking for ways to remove carbon from the atmosphere High Plains Biochar has a very simple solution. Our patent-pending biochar stoves & furnaces utilize state-of-the-art technology to create biochar from wood chips, wood pellets, corn, crop residues, and other biomass materials.
Unlike most existing biochar production technologies on the market today, our stoves are:
-
extremely energy-efficient
-
allow for heat capture & utilization
-
provide emissions data
(for carbon capture analysis & earning carbon credits)
What makes our technology different?
1. Power Consumption
Our unique stove designs do not require large electric fans to operate. Augers move biomass through the retort with minimal electricity. No fossil fuels are required for startup, operation, or fuel drying.
4. Flexibility
Because of the design our RocketChar furnace can burn a variety of feedstock including those with some moisture content, up to 30%. Wood chips, wood pellets, hemp, agricultural residue, etc will all work in our equipment.
2. Heat Utilization
With usable heat, our stoves have a significantly different carbon footprint than technology that wastes the heat produced. This can be done with air-to-air heat exchangers tied to duct work, or with air-to-water heat exchangers to redirect heated liquid for other uses.
5. Time Control
Because our augers are independently controlled we can adjust dwell time depending on the feedstock to maximize efficiency. Other equipment does not offer this kind of control over the quality of biochar produced.
3. Emissions
Because our industrial rocket stoves burn in excess of 2,000 degrees the emissions are minimized. Most biochar equipment never gets close to these temps, so they inevitably produce a lot more smoke & emissions.
6. Strategic Partners
We are currently seeking strategic research partners to distribute this technology internationally. Please contact Zach@HPBiochar.com if you are interested.
